Wishing You Happiness Layout by Mel Connell

Hello once again everyone. So lovely that you could stop by again to check out what I have been up to with all the gorgeous Couture Creations products.

This time around I have put to gather a very soft feminine layout with heaps of layering, and a very special hand contracted paper flower. I'll step you through how to put the flower together for you layout.

You will need some plain white cardstock, a hole punch like a crop-a-file or silent setter, decorative scissors, embossing stylus and foam mat, and of course a Couture Creations flower shape dies. I used the Secret Treasures Retro Flowers die for this one.

Die cut your self half a dozen or so of each large and medium size of flower. punch a small hole into the centre of all of them, cut around the tops of the petals to give them a jagged edge, and then use your embossing stylus and matt to curl up all the petals.

I thread these onto some flower stamen glueing each layer until they are all into place. Set this aside to let the glue dry for a few minutes, then you can give it a mist of spray colour to match your layout. It takes a little time but the result is brilliant.

Next up sand back a piece of Coordinations cardstock with a pre-embossed patted with your Couture Creations sanding block.

Using some more white cardstock letter press this using pigment ink and one of your favourite Couture creations embossing folders. Die cut two of the Cog borders from the Metricon Die Range. I heat embossed this in a matching colour to my layout theme.

Also die cut a set from the Metricon Siblings die, and also heat emboss these in a coordinating colour. In plain white cardstock cut a dozen or more ( or fewer if that is more to your liking) of the Roman set from the metric on Range.

Add a Couture Creations Pearl to the centre of every Fluer-de-lis.

From here, choose some flowers and any other embellishments you would like to use and stick everything into to place. I love the sprinkle effect of having a bunch of the little Roman set die cuts around the page.

Fluer De Lis Card by Mel Connell

Welcome back again everyone. I'm so glad you stopped by to have a little look see at what I have created for you this time.

Again I chose to make a card, one that was a bit more unisex as it were, and what better motif to use than a Fluer De Lis. This little set of Couture Creations Dies is fast becoming my favourite, I like to use the Roman Set of Dies so much.

So I chose a metallic gold cardstock to create my card base and one of my top layers, along with a fairly vintage design paper for my other layers. You can make as many layers as you'd like, but with the top layer tear into the piece to give it a very very worn look.

Distress the edges and add ink using your Couture Creature Dauber. Tape down several of your top layers. Poke some holes for stitching using your awl for the hand held essentials tool set, and add some thread in a cross stitch pattern.

Tape this to you card base. Next I stamped a sentiment on the same gold cardstock as the card base. Distress the edges and ink with your Dauber also. I did pop some holes in this for some brads but in the end changed my mind.

Pop your sentiment panel on your card front using the Couture creations Foam tape. Instead of adding brads in the end I thought the Couture Creations Pearls would look much better.
I always use my LED precision tweezers for this kind of job. I have got to tell you these tweezers are so amazing. I just love that you have light exactly where you need it, so you can see the right spot to pop small things like these pearls.

If you haven't already got yourself these , this tool is a must!

Next I cut myself a bunch of Fluer De Lis in both the sizes. I added a small pearl to the centre of these also, and used the 3D foam mini dots to place them around my cards front.

I would love to see if you give this ind of card a go, and hows your turned out.

Thanks again for stopping by and I'll will see you again very shortly with a layout that also feature none other than the Roman Set dies amongst others.

So here is my quick Tutorial for you today using both Couture Creations Dies and embossing folders and Imaginarium Designs Chipboard.

Firstly I cut a 3 inch by 12 inch piece of cardstock, covered it completely with Foiltape, and then ran it through my embossing machine in the Irish Clubs embossing folder. Coated this entirely with a thin coat of white paint. Once it was dry I sanded the piece to bring back the silver metal on the raised areas. I added some Pink Glitzin Glamour Glue to the centre of every flower.

I used the stunning Long Swirly Flourish from Imaginarium designs on my layout. I coated it in two layers of silver embossing powder to get a thick smooth finish. Then I added some embossing ink toward the bottom of the flourish and sprinkled on some red embossing powder and heat set. repeat this again with some blue embossing powder and heat set.

I also used the Happy Days Chipboard Title. This I also gave two coats of black embossing powder and then rubbed on some silver metallic rub to distress the finish.

December Daily Album - By Mel Connell.

Merry Christmas in July Everyone! xxxx

Don't you just love Christmas? I do I love it all. All the cornet decorations, the cookie making, the tree trimming, the wrapping presents and making special things.

I though I would get a jump on Christmas this year and get my December Daily album ready to rock. I have used a bunch of the completely gorgeous Couture Creations Christmas dies that are soon to be released. They are just so yummy I am lost for words. Wait till you see them all. I've used some Couture creations patterned paper and also I have used some relish cupboard from our good friends over at Imaginarium Designs. We are doing a Blog hop with them in a few weeks to be sure to keep your eyes open for the collision of awesomeness that will be Couture Creations and Imaginarium Designs

So lets get started. I chose one of the many small ring binder albums on the market at the moment. Cover the entire front and back with some red polka dot paper from the Sew Jo Paper pad by Couture Creations.

Die cut your self a Doily in white paper, add some shimmer to this with some rub or sprays. Cut your self one Bubble Tree. I cut it in white also and then spritzed it with green glimmer mist. Set this aside to dry for a while.

Last of all you need one of the new Merry Christmas die cuts. Isn't this die just amazing. This is going to be a favourite of mine for a very very long time I think.

Choose some embellishments to compliment what you already have happening and arrange to suit on the front of your album. I have used the Couture Creations Pearls to add centres to my flowers.

Layer everything up and tuck in a few of your favourite chipboard pieces from Imaginarium Designs just to finish everything off.

Adore by Mel Connell

Hello All, Welcome to July.
I just cannot believe how quickly this year is passing, it really must have to do with "Time flies when your having fun"!

This Month I wanted to use one of the super cool new A4, yes you read that right, A4 Embossing Folders by Couture Creations. My goodness did I fall in love with see as soon as I saw them. Imagine the possibilities.

So I thought this would be a great opportunity to do a Letter pressed background for a Layout.
I used some smooth white cardstock for this. Textured will work, you will just get a more rustic finish which is also beautiful.
You will also need some non-permanant pigment ink for this.

Are you ready???

Ok, so start by inking up directly onto your embossing folder on the inside. you only need to do one side of the folder, not both.

Place your cardstock into your embossing fold, close and run throughout your machine, being careful not to let your cardstock move.

Once you have embossed the cardstock carefully peel your embossing folder open to reveal the letter pressed background. Set these aside to dry or dry off with a heat tool.

Layer up a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock with a layer of yellow spotted paper from the Coutre Creations 12x12 patterned paper pad Sew Jo. I just love this paper pad, especially these spotted papers. Top of the layering with your letter pressed cardstock. I did four pieces and cut them to match the pattern. As I used the Border, Tags and More, this is a combination of borders tags and a larger embossing panel, I embossed four sections and cut to size for my layout.

Cut yourself one of the many gorgeous border Dies that Couture Creations have. I used the Chandaliers set, and cut it in white cardstock. I gave this a coat of lemon shimmer ink.

I used some gorgeous chipboard pieces from Imaginarium Designs on this layout. We are doing a blog hop with them a little later in the month so be sure to watch out for the amazing work that will cmd from this collaboration. I painted them all white, and added some Crystalina Glitzn Glamour Glue to the butterflies to give them a little sparkle.

I finished off my layout with a sprinkling of gorgeous Couture Creations Pearls.

I love this Letter Press look, it gives such a gorgeous soft finish that can be used on just about any project.

Pictures of You by Mel Connell

Hiya Everyone.

Welcome back. So I have been creating up a storm this month, getting lots done and having heaps of fun with the gorgeous Couture Creations Dies and Embossing folders.

This time I have created a very very girly layout using just the sweetest Ballerina Dies from Couture Creations.

These Des would be just divine for anyone who has little girls who do Ballet or dance, but as I don't i wanted to change them up a little. I cut out of some paper some butterfly wings, coated these with a layer of Crystalina Glitzin Glamour Glue, and set aside to dry.

Next I cut out a set of the Ballet girls from the Ballet Tutu Die set. These I covered with embossing ink and heat set using a cream sparkle embossing powder.

Glue the butterfly wings to back of the Ballet girls and you have your self some Fairies.

Layer up some pretty papers, lace and ribbon, cluster some flowers around your photos and then add all your dies cut elements. Both Fairies (I used some 3D glue spots behind them to make then stand up from the page), I also cut some green leaves, and some black flourishes from card stock to add to my clusters of embellishments.

I added some black Glitzing Glamour Glitter Glue to the centre of some small silver cabochons that I added to my page to make them pop. To finish off I sprinkled around a lot of small Gems in the Pink Flamingo colour from Couture Creations

Retro "Celebrate" Notecard Set by Mel Connell.

Well Hello again everyone. So glad you've stopped by my little blog. I am loving that the weather has changed, cooled down and we can spend more time tucked up at home keeping warm and creating away in our little spaces.
I wanted to share a technique I saw recently where by you Due cut all your elements out and then place them all back in to create a flat surface design. I hope you like it, I hope you give it a go in some way.

I started with my Couture creations Nested Circle dies. I laid down some low tack painters tape and placed my dies on it to create one cutting dies with all the circles placed inside each other.

I chose 6 pieces of coloured car stock as I had 6 circle dies, cut them to fit on the front of white folded cards.

Place your Die stack onto each piece of car stock and cut the rings out. Keep them all. Place a pice of double sided sticky paper on the backside of the car stock to cover the circle that is left.

Work your way through all the pieces placing back different rings of colour. these stick to your double sided sticky sheet so will be secure and will not fall out.

Keep going until all your card fronts are complete with all rings and the small circle in the centre.

tape a word Die into the centre of each circle and die cut the word.

Remove this and you are left with a space where the word should be.

Adhere these to the fronts of your blank folded cards

Die cut from black card stock 6 celebrate words. Glue these into position on each card. Add some glitter to the words with either your Glitzin Glue or a glitter pen. I added some faux stitch marked around the each of each card with a black marker.

You'll have a set of six cards ready to go at the end. You can have then ready to go for those unexpected moneys when you need a card, or team them up with envelopes and give them as a gift to someone you love.
