Trio of Thank You Cards by Mel Connell

Hello once again one and all.
It is with a sad tone that I bring this my last blog post as an official Couture Creation Design Team Member. This past year has flown by and has been filled with amazing crafty goodness.

Thank you so much to my fellow Couture Creations Design team members for making this a fun and inspiring adventure.

Thank you very much for the team at ArtDeco Creations for choosing me to be apart of this wonderful team.

But mostly thank you Kerrie for being a stunning Design Team Coordinator. It's been a great year. Fun, exciting, love getting those parcels in the mail, and so so proud and honoured to have my work travel to CHA 2015. Huge!

My final project was this trio of thank you cards.
Once again using the stunning gorgeous Vintage Rose Garden papers. Seriously, you need to get the paper pad it's divine!

I used two dies from the most recent Die releases, and cut simple white card stock pieces, used some ink to highlight the edges and layered the elements up with the 3D glue spots.

Each card has a Frames and Frills Doily folded over the opening edge to create a flap, and all three cards are held closed with some ribbon tied in a bow around them.

Simple cards but very very pretty. Making a set of 6-10 would make a beautiful gift to give someone.

Once again, I have loved my time here at Couture Creations, its such a fabulous company with fantastic products. I look forward to following what then Team does this year.

Love You Tag - By Mel Connell

Welcome to March everyone, Can you believe how fast this year is going already. It's crazy.
March sees us coming into Autumn here in Australia and I am for one so looking forward a to a cool change.

This Month also sees the release of the Hearts Ease Collection of dies and paper collection.
Check out the gorgeous paper collection here

I wanted this month to create one more tag using the Vintage Rose Garden papers, these are still so so so gorgeous. This tag will give me 6 made in this collection and I plan the frame them all together.

Start by covering a tag entirely with your favourite Vintage Rose Garden paper, I used Frame of Roses - CO723992, or you could jump right in with the beautiful new Hearts Ease papers here. Cover the entire Tag with the new 2 way Glue pen, in the wide tip, this gives amazing quick coverage.

Trim off the edges and give it an edging of ink with one of the sponge Daubers.
Cut one of the new Mirabilis Dies cuts in a matching paper or some of the plainer centre of the same paper. Also give the edges of this a blush of ink to high;right the gorgeous lacey edge.

Now cut your self one of the Love, Laugh, Live words from the 12 x12 Green Words sheet. The centre Dies of the Mirabilis dies set fits exactly perfectly around these words.
Cut out a few of the printed flowers fro the Frame of Roses paper to use as extra embossments for your tag.

I added a self adhesive Pearl the centres of my flowers to give them a special little sparkle. Add in a few chipboard flourishes and layer all your elements up using the 3D Glue Dots. I just love these, so quick and easy to use to give instant dimension.

Love by Mel Connell

Hello once again.

Thank you for dropping in to check out my latest creation using the fabulous Couture Creations products.

This time around I have used the Vintage Rose Garden paper collection (still crushing on this, it's just stunning!), One of the sets from the newly released Frames and Frill collections and a few dies form the Everyday Essentials Collection.

All three of these create a gorgeous soft frilly romantic feel.

I have used several sheets of the Vintage Rose Garden 12 x 12 sheets of paper. Cutting some of the floral elements out to use as embellishment, and cutting from other sheets some of the elements using the dies from both collections.

I have cut around 7 of the Script love word from the Everyday Essentials collections and glued them all on top of each other to create a thicker 3D effect with the word.
I have cut apart the Edith Border to use the small Butterflies individually around my layout.

Sprinkle around a bunch of Gems, I have used the Vintage Gold colour, adding them to the centres of the printed flowers on the Vintage Rose Garden paper and also to the centre of the small dies cut flower from the Anastasia set of dies.

"Friendship isn't a big thing" - Mel Connell

Hello again everyone.
So glad you could once again stop by and have a little look see at what I have been creating with the Couture Creations products.

I recently needed to make a card to thank someone for their support over the last few months. I took the opportunity to use the brand new release dies from the Frames and Fill collection.
I love all four of the sets in this collection and they will be staples for years to come.

Really who doesn't love a doily? Am I right?

I settled on using the very sweet Elissa Set.
Start out by creating a card base in card stock, choose a colour that matches your favourite sheet from the Vintage Rose Garden 6 x 6 paper pad.

Die cut the doily from plain card stock, and then the inner circle die from another coordinating sheet from the 6 x 6 Vintage Rose Garden pad. The inner circle dies gives a slight pinked zigzag edge which is lovely or you can distress the edges as I have.

Give the doily a couple of coats of embossing enamel. I've gone with an antique gold to match the gorgeous green of the paper.
Stamp a message on the inner circle and layer the together with the new Couture Creations Glue pen. It's really big and you can cover a lot of area fast.
Trim down your main pattern paper piece and centre in the middle of your card front.
layer all these elements up on your card front with a few pretty flowers.

Don't forget to add a little surprise o the inside of your card. I love to put little elements inside also.

I have used the flower spray die from the Elissa set and covered with a few layers of embossing enamel again. Adhere this to the back of one of the word sentiments from the ephemera sheet in the 6 x 6 paper pad, and mounted this inside on some foam tape.

It's just a little something extra when they open the card to read your message.

Kaiser Blue Bay - Tomorrow's Memories.

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to stop by and share a layout I have recently done using the new Kaiser Blue Bay Range.

This is such a pretty range and can be used for so many kinds of photo occasions. Here I have used a photo I took of an old temple that has been converted into a restaurant in Bali.

Along with the gorgeous My Creative Wings chipboard swirls, this is just a divine combination.

I had a bit of messy fun on this one also, using the new Tim Holtz Distress sprays. I am so in love with these. I used the Pewter on the chipboard swirls and also used Picket fence to create some paint dribble grunginess under my focal photo.

All these products and more are available in store now.

You can keep up to date with all the wonderful work created by the Tomorrow's Memories Design Team here

 Hello Everyone.

Well it's a new year, hope you all enjoyed your holiday season with family and friends.

I hope you have loved seeing all the new CHA releases that Couture creations has in store for you this year. Some really, really yummy stuff coming.

So today I wanted to share with you a card I made this past week. I don't know about you but I do find myself looking for fresh inspirational quotes at the beginning of a new year.

I have used the Cuckoo Clock die set from the Vintage Rose dies collection. I just love this for using my quotes stamps on. It's just enough space and fits really well onto the front of a card.

I've inked around the edges of the die cut with some brown ink and my sponge dauber and added a few gems for a touch of sparkle.

Using the Classic Vines Die from the Vintage Roe collection also I have cut one out of a pale coloured paper from the Vintage Rose 6x6 paper pad. Cut it apart to use smaller portions to add some foliage behind the flower on the front of the card.

I have fussy cut some of the floral designs from one of the sheets also from the Vintage Rose 6 x 6 paper pad and used these as embellishments in the bottom corners of my card.
